In her book, Kemi draws deeply from her faith and her personal life experiences to provide guidance, reassurance and advice to those who are struggling with issues in both love and self-love. She has a knack for hitting the nail on the head, providing a remarkably accurate description of some of the types of characters we encounter in our day-to-day lives, and illustrating her points with supporting evidence from stories taken from her life, whether it’s family experiences, relationship experiences, or experiences in faith. Kemi’s candid style and willingness to share her own struggles with her readers creates a feeling of closeness and camaraderie, and above all, shows anyone who’s dealing with issues of love and self-love that they are not alone.

Being Single: A State for the Fragile Heart: A Guide to Self-Love, Finding You and Purposeful Living by Kemi Sogunle is an insightful and uplifting book for all those readers who are looking to get rid of toxic relationships from their lives and lead fulfilling and enriching lives. It’s a book that will take readers on a journey of self-love, redemption, healing and self-discovery. It pushes readers to step out of their comfort zones and celebrate their uniqueness. Readers get to discover themselves and lead purposeful lives after reading this book.

I found the book relatable and tangible. The author’s personal experiences and stories shared in the book will help readers connect with her in a better way and make the necessary transformation in their lives. The author reiterates the power of God and tells readers that they need to connect to God to find purpose in their lives. Reading the book will take everyone on an inner journey and teach them to love themselves in spite of all their shortcomings. The author also highlights the single phases in everyone’s lives, and it’s only after embracing this stage that one can grow as a better human being.

Very good book. It gave me a lot to think about as embark on this new single journey.

  7. Priyal

I generally don’t read self-help books but I’d like to recommend this book to anyone who feels lost and dejected in life to get some hope. Nugget 7 onwards can be helpful.

This book can be very helpful for people who just entered adolescence and have newly hit puberty. Puberty brings in a great change in life and awareness and alertness is very important to remain in the right track. Those parents who don’t find the right words to explain their teen kids can sit with them and read this. It’ll help a lot, I believe.

Self-love chapter is useful for everyone. Each and every person should learn to love oneself and learn to keep oneself happy. Cause one who can’t love himself and keep himself happy, cannot spread love and happiness to others.

  8. Millian

Kemi did a wonderful job explaining the concept of getting yourself right, instead of searching for things in the wrong places. She drew upon her personal experiences, to make very important points about loving yourself, and making better choices. If you young, brokenhearted, or picking up pieces from relationships, check out this book, to get some new ideas and a better approach to take.
